CBD use in the equine is in its infancy. Much like dosing for humans and companion animals (canines and felines), the amount of CBD required depends on the condition being treated and the size of the patient. Horses weigh about 6 to 8 times more than the average human, however, this is not to say they necessarily require 6 to 8 times more of an ingredient as some larger animal species can achieve results on a lower dose of a certain ingredient than a smaller, different species due to physiological differences. Generally speaking though, horses usually require higher doses of an ingredient to achieve an effect. In the case of CBD, horses do require higher doses than humans.
